Live Music Festival

Category

My brief was to design a set of promotional posters for an invented Live Music Festival for a college PLA graphic design course. The brief was to create a bold, contemporary visual identity that would stand out both in print and online, attract a wide audience, and reflect the energy of a live music event featuring an invented singer Sienna McCabe.

Concept

The concept focused on high impact visuals paired with clean, modern typography. For the first poster, I used a vibrant crowd scene with lighting effects to capture the electric atmosphere of live performances. For the second, a moody silhouette of the lead performer was used to create a sense of drama and intimacy. Both designs incorporated minimal, music player inspired graphic elements, reinforcing the festival theme while keeping the layout fresh and stylish.

Execution

I developed two complementary poster variations: one designed for widespread promotion (highlighting the energy of the event), and one focused on the headline artist, ideal for more targeted advertising. The text hierarchy was carefully structured to ensure that key event details, date, location, ticket price, and website, remained instantly clear. Bold white typography contrasted against rich, warm imagery to maximise legibility and impact.

Outcome

If the event was actual, the posters could have been used across social media, event listings, and printed materials. This would successfully help to build anticipation and drive ticket sales for the event. The dual-design approach offered flexibility for different promotional contexts while maintaining a consistent, professional visual identity for the festival.
