Wine Bottle Brief
Category
my creative brief was to create and design a wine bottle label for an invented winery. I designed the Llanberis Reserve 2025 wine label for ‘Llanberisian Winery’, a small-scale producer based at the foot of Snowdon in North Wales. The brief was to create a premium inspired label that reflected the winery’s reputation for quality, hand-crafted wines. The design needed to balance tradition and sophistication.
Concept
The concept drew inspiration from the rugged beauty and heritage of Llanberis, with the design emphasising pride in place and craftsmanship. The red grape imagery symbolises the heart of the winemaking process, while the warm tones of gold and burgundy evoke depth, richness, and warmth, qualities associated with fine wine. The use of metallic effects and layered gradients was intended to create a sense of texture and refinement, echoing the complexity of the wine itself.
Execution
The final design features elegant serif typography paired with stylised calligraphy, merging contemporary presentation with old charm. A bunch of red grapes sits prominently in the lower left corner, providing a natural focal point that visually balances the text and grounds the label in authenticity. The gold gradient background and soft horizontal lines add a sense of movement and light, suggesting the rolling hills surrounding Snowdon. The overall layout is structured for clarity, while maintaining an artisanal, award winning appearance.
Outcome
The Llanberis Reserve 2025 label captures the spirit of its origin, proud, refined, and distinctly Welsh. It communicates quality and heritage through careful composition and subtle colour pairing. The design successfully signifies local winemaking, giving Llanberisian Winery a strong, recognisable identity that stands confidently on the shelf.
