Photography Exhibition
Category
My brief was to design promotional poster for a photography exhibition. The brief was to create striking, professional visual that would capture the essence of photography as an art form while clearly communicating key event information. The designs needed to work effectively across print and digital platforms, attracting both industry professionals and the general public. Additionally, I was tasked to create a design using visual imagery and applying the Principles of Design to ensure strong visual impact and cohesion.
Concept
Each poster explored a different visual tone and atmosphere.
-
The first design, Exhibit A, used a bold, colourful portrait paired with elegant gold typography on a black background. This created a dramatic, gallery like aesthetic that drew the eye and conveyed a sense of creativity and prestige.
-
The second design embraced a monochrome, high contrast style, using a powerful black and white portrait to reflect the emotional depth of award winning photography. Clean, modern typography was paired with a minimalist layout to give the design a refined, contemporary feel.
Exhibition
I focused on creating clear information, ensuring that the event titles, dates, times, and venues were instantly legible. The banner and posters were designed with consistent use of imagery, typography, and composition, applying the Principles of Design such as balance, contrast, alignment, and emphasis. Both poster variations were optimised for print display and digital use across social media and event listings.
Outcome
The posters and banner successfully set the tone for the intended purpose. Their bold visual styles made them stand out in both physical and online promotional spaces, aligning with the artistic and professional nature of the events.
